Soldiers

This page is dedicated to Ted Wingstrom of the 456 PFA

Years ago Ted Wingstrom (Now Deceased) who was in B-Battery went back to Sicily and he could not even find the Area where we landed as things had changed so much. I believe Ted was the oldest enlisted man in B-Battery at 33 yrs old.

Before the war he was a stunt Diver and swimmer in the Billy Rose Aquacade at the 1939 Worlds Fair. I ask him once what he was doing in the army before he became a Paratrooper. He told me he was a crew member on a Army Tug in New York Harbor.
