Paratroopers of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment

Captain Clyde Russell served as the 2nd Battalion adjutant during the Sicily and Italy campaigns. Before leaving Sicily, he was given command of E Company 505, which he led through D-Day and the fighting in Normandy.

He remained in the military after the war and would go on to command the 505 in 1955.
