Mr. Kasse had one combat jump with the 17th Airborne Division over the Rhine River called Operation Varsity. Later, his division was being trained to jump into Tokyo. It was known as Operation Olympians. But when the atomic bomb on was dropped Nagasaki, he received a letter from Ft. Bragg telling him to report to G Company 505 of the 82nd Abn Division. He remained with them from Oct 1945 till May 1946. During this period, trooper Kasse participated in experimental jumps from the Flying Box Car known
as the 118. He marched in all parades, New York, Washington DC, and Philadelphia.
