The following is a work compiled in 1985 by Clayton Vernon Bauer who served in World War II as a Staff Sergeant with the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment in headquarters company, 3rd Battalion, also known as "The Cannonball Battalion" Clayton served from February 9, 1943 through January 16, 1946. He re-enlisted into the National Guard on November 13, 1947, in 1949 he was promoted to a 2nd Lieutenant on June 18,1953 he was promoted to Captain. Clayton stayed with the National Guard until April 24th 1954.

Below, Bill Ramsey also lived in New Jersey, he served with Clayton in
3rd Battalion's headquarters company. Bill was commissioned to 2nd
Lieutenant during the war.
