    Wilburn Cornelius Nelson enlisted into the Army on February 17th 1939 from Houston, Harris County, Texas. Wilburn earned his Combat Infantryman Badge in Sicily, he also was a Purple Heart medal recipient. Staff Sergeant Wilburn Cornelius Nelson was discharged July 6, 1945.
